"The only thing I don't understand..."
"Everything's fine. It does what it's supposed to. The only thing I don't understand is why it needs LR20 (baby) batteries? [...] I've temporarily put in AA batteries. How? I simply thickened the negative terminal with silver foil..."

Even if it works technically in the short term, this poses risks such as overheating. The device uses LR20 (mono) batteries for good reason: They have a significantly higher capacity for safe continuous operation.
